The Gallery

The Gallery opens in the cold street outside a great museum of the dead, a hall of glass cases under a dome where every soul who could not bear to be forgotten stands behind glass with a brass label and a number, kept perfect, admired, witnessed, never let go. You came to find the likeness of who you were before you began to disappear. All you have to do is hold a pose, take your place, and let yourself be kept.
